Microfinance is a very new initiative of NEST.  From 8th January 2009 NEST started micro-financing to rural individuals in Golaghat and Jorhat Districts of Assam. Micro Financing is done only for Micro Entrepreneurship development where NEST staffs ensure a Micro Planning for each individual beneficiary.

This initiative is started with a loan from Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Nidhi (RGVN). The beneficiaries are tagged with various existing programs and initiatives of NEST. Like many of the Micro Finance Beneficiaries are the parents of AMMA students, few are weavers and artisans who are working with NEST for last many years few others are System of Rice Intensification (SRI) farmers.
 

So far we have provided loans to 33 numbers of beneficiaries covering 17 villages of Jorhat and Golaghat districts of Assam. This is a very humble initiative which we will be expanding to more villages of Jorhat, Golaghat and Lakhimpur district soon with our experience and understanding as a Micro Financing Institute (MFI)
